After our first successful show at Louisville last year we were very excited to bring the JC Whitney Wrench and Ride road show back to the Kentucky Exposition Center June 2-3.
The crowd was even larger than last year and the weather was better with a threat of storms that never materialized. Inside the expo hall many folks dropped by to take advantage of excellent deals from our Wrench and Ride sponsors including, Aries, Coverking, Crown, Curt, Powerstop and Rancho. We met enthusiasts from all over Kentucky and some from neighboring states including Indiana, Illinois and Ohio.
Outside the UORE team set up an off road demonstration area for wheeling and many drivers accepted the challenge in their vehicles. The Show and Shine competition was another big hit at this event-there was something for everybody at Louisville!
While we were in the neighborhood we set aside time during our visit to check out the National Corvette Museum and tour the Corvette manufacturing plant in nearby Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Kris from Powerstop Brakes was in town for the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car just a few yards away at NCM Motorsports Park so we invited him to join us for an afternoon of everything Corvette. Unfortunately the Corvette plant tour doesn’t allow any photography so you will have to believe us when we say that the tour was awesome and it was great fun to see the Corvette sub-assemblies come together with giant robots and craftsman’s hands to make a complete sports car that rolls off the line at the end of the 90 minute tour.
Across the road at the Corvette museum there was no such prohibition on photography and we saw numerous rare Corvettes as well as the aftermath of the sinkhole that previously claimed a few Vette victims. If you get a chance we think both the plant and the Museum are must-visit locations for a JC Whitney fan!
Thanks for a great weekend Louisville! The JC Whitney team is looking forward to our next visit.
